REPRODUCTIVE PSYCHOLOGY

Bearing a child is presumed to be a biological prerogative, but what happens when things go wrong? And what happens when you've had a child, but are too depressed or anxious to enjoy or fulfill your new role as a parent?

Reproductive challenges, and parenthood itself, can take a physical and emotional toll on both women and men, and can trigger new issues and conflicts in a relationship. I provide counseling for individuals dealing with reproductive issues, including:

  • infertility
  • pregnancy loss
  • pregnancy termination for medical or other reasons.
  • traumatic birth
  • difficulties adjusting to parenthood
  • perinatal and/or postpartum mood disturbance, including
    • baby blues
    • perinatal or postpartum depression
    • perinatal or postpartum anxiety
